AHAAN-ANKURAN: LAND OF A MILLION MIRACLES
Year 3-7 / Nursery-Grade II
Ahaan-Ankuran is a combination of two stages where one step leads to the other. This is the learning and development space for children from years 3 to 7.
The classrooms at Ahaan-Ankuran are a happy community where students take joy in their work. They invent, explore, experiment, confer, create, prepare snacks, and curl up with books. Meanwhile, teachers circulate throughout the room, observing the students and making notes about their progress, ever ready to offer support, as appropriate.
Ahaan-Ankuran at Vandya consists of flexible, multi-faceted, multi-level, play-based, activity-based, and inquiry-based learning, comprising alphabets, languages, numbers, counting, colours, shapes, indoor and outdoor play, puzzles and logical thinking, problem-solving, drawing, painting, and other visual art, craft, drama and puppetry, music and movement. It also includes a focus on developing social capacities, sensitivity, good behaviour, courtesy, ethics, personal and public cleanliness, teamwork, and cooperation. Natural lighting, soft colours, and uncluttered spaces set the stage for activity that is focused and calm. Learning materials are arranged on accessible shelves according to the curricular area, fostering independence as teachers guide the students to go about their work. Everything is where it is supposed to be, conveying a sense of harmony and order that both comforts and inspires. The overall aim of Ahaan-Ankuran is to attain optimal outcomes in the domains of physical and motor development, cognitive development, socio-emotional-ethical development, cultural/artistic development, and the development of communication and early language, literacy, and numeracy.
